The house of art functionaries will host a painting theatre exhibition by artist Vitaly Yermolayev. Titled Inner Light, it will be an extraordinary delight to the visual and audial senses.
Vitaly Yermolayev employs a particular technique that allows paintings to change what spectators see into a completely different picture under fluorescent light. The paintings’ trick is the so-called “day” and “night” effect. The transition from “day” painting to “night” painting can be very gradual and produce a huge variety of alternating images. Yermolayev’s paintings are brimming with romantic associations. Many of his works constitute a bridge between the conscious and the subconscious. The atmosphere created by the paintings will be also complemented by a special selection of music.
The opening of the exhibition with artist himself participating will take place at 20:00. It will be open to spectators from 20:30 to 01:00. The first 10 minutes of every hour will be dedicated to telling the story of painting technique and the author himself. Parallel to the exhibition a workshop will be taking place – sign up in advance and learn this painting technique free of charge.
Vitaliy Yermolayev is the student of Kazan Art school and Art academy, graduated from the St.Petersburg/Leningrad Art academy in 1973, has also studied in the design department of Art academy of Latvia. He has been living and working in Riga since 1973, and since 2004 – in Jūrmala. His paintings are on permanent exhibition in his Jūrmala residence Inner Light in Majori.
