00:00–03:00 jam session continues with guests and young musicians.

Everyone is welcome to take your own musical instruments with you and participate in making music together!

Trams invite everyone to tune the city on a united night frequency this year. The idea is based on a sound that united people and events, sound that unites different geographical spots, allowing us a chance to get to know the city we live in, and night projects, thus creating a united network of events.

Sounds are always around us and within us, although we sometimes don’t even notice: people talking, birds tweeting, leaves rustling on trees, water rippling, car noises. Each sound has its source and is caused by movement. The source of a sound is always a body oscillating or vibrating. The oscillations that cause sounds are not always observable with the naked eye, but there is no sound without vibration. Sound is one of the most important means of communication in human society. Sounds are all around, they express everything, every event in the city has its own characteristic sound.

To sound, ring, tune, accord, concord – these words include loads of special meanings both practically and philosophically. It is a means of mutual understanding and a particular landmark in the environment. Sound is music that reflects the spirit of the time, cultural and historical experience, people’s emotions, and is always open to new interpretations of the future.

Trams, the objects of sound will link the events of White Night, supplementing them with various genres of music, and all the city of Riga will speak one language, that needs no language knowledge to be spoken and understood.
